Datadog, founded in 2010, is the essential monitoring and security platform for cloud applications. Datadog brings together end-to-end traces, metrics, and logs to make applications, infrastructure, and third-party services entirely observable. These capabilities help businesses secure their systems, avoid downtime, and ensure customers are getting the best user experience. The company is headquartered in New York City in the United States with 32 offices spanning across APAC and EMEA located in major tech hubs such as Paris, Tokyo, Madrid and Israel.

The challenge and solution

As Datadog rapidly expanded around the world, opening regional locations and acquiring companies across EMEA and APAC, they hired employees globally, expanding their pool of ESL employees. Datadog’s L&D team builds programs to ensure that every employee is set up for success at all points throughout their career. During the beginning of this rapid global growth, they didn’t have language coaching and learning internally and felt that online courses weren’t giving employees the language coaching they needed to engage meaningfully with team members and customers.

Datadog was looking for a more personalized solution that would teach language skills that would set up their employees for business success.
