Teaching coaching skills for managers

Are your managers successful at getting the best out of their team? In our years of working with learning and development teams, we’ve noticed that managers are often ill-equipped to answer this question. For starters, managers tend to think they’re coaching when they’re actually just telling their employees what to do.

People management is not an innate skill for many new and emerging leaders. To make matters worse, most managers don’t understand what coaching really is and how they should be coaching employees to improve performance. The good news is that skills can be taught in a relatively short amount of time.

Hear Elizabeth’s insights on how managers can hone their coaching skills over time.
